School Council visit to the Cenotaph

Rememberance Day
This week the children have been learning about Armistice Day in their lessons and have spent time creating work to mark this occasion. On Wednesday the whole school came together for a special assembly where their work was shared, we saw some beautiful poppy artwork and acrostic and ‘Flanders Fields’ poems were read out ahead of our two-minute silence to remember the fallen.

Later in the day, our School Council members visited the local cenotaph to lay a selection of our children’s work.

Joint British Values Trip to Houses of Parliament

As part of our British Values project, children from Brentnall travelled to London on 14th October 2015 with children from 2 local primary schools; Broughton Jewish Cassel Fox and River View.

The children experienced the London Underground, a cruise onboard the River Thames before entering the Houses of Parliament for the afternoon.

The Parliament’s Education Service provided the children with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, shared interactive information about the right to vote and held a debate with the children.  Whilst in the Houses of Parliament we had the opportunity to see MP’s in action in the House of Commons!
