Well done Pearl class on a very successful cycle 2. We have lots more exciting learning to look forward to as we approach cycle 3.

Overview of Cycle 3:

English The Robot and the Bluebird by David Lucas 

We will be learning to use illustrations to infer characters’ feelings, actions and emotions. We will be developing our use of adjectives and using story maps to retell the story from different points of view.

Bedtime for Monsters by Ed Vere

We will be developing our use of adjectives through character descriptions and using our phonic knowledge to create labels, lists and captions.

Note for parents:


Reading Record: Please sign and date each day to let me know that your child has read with you. Reading books changed on a Monday.

Homework is given out on a Friday and must be handed in by the following Wednesday.

PE takes place on a Monday and Tuesday. Indoor PE on Monday and outdoor PE on Tuesday. Your child must be in full kit every week. PE kit is; black shorts, white polo shirt and black pumps. For outdoor PE as the weather is getting colder; black jogging bottoms, black zip up jacket, white polo shirt and black pumps.


There has been a lot of missed learning in the mornings due to late arrivals. Please ensure you arrive on time, school starts 8:50am prompt and learning begins as soon as your child arrives.
