Headteacher’s Updates

HEADTEACHER’S UPDATE – Friday 17th November 2017

Dear parents/carers,

Year 6 – Awards

This half-term, children in Year 6 have been busy writing their applications for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl.  The standard of the letters was extremely high which left Miss Stephens and Mrs Woolley with some tough decisions to make.  I am delighted to congratulate; Ilja – Head Boy, Lucy – Head Girl, Karim – Deputy Head Boy and Mica – Deputy Head Girl who will represent Year 6 and Brentnall throughout the school year; I am confident that they will do themselves and the school proud!

Children in Need

Today, we have been supporting Children in Need with a ‘spotty’ themed non-uniform day.  Children in Need, is a charity very close to our hearts as they help to support our school community.  I would like to thank you for your donations that raised an amazing £110.

Anti-Bullying Week

Miss Stephens’s assembly on Monday morning launched Anti-Bullying Week across school which demonstrated to the children the importance of talking to adults.  Each class had a lesson decicated to anti-bullying where videos were played and questions were answered.

Cinema Visits

This week, children in Year 3, 5 and Rainbow Class have visited The Lowry Cinema to watch a movie.  During their visits, the children gained a first hand experience of an attraction in the local area and developed life skills such as positive relationships and how to recognise how others are feeling.

Christmas Fair

Preparations to make our Christmas Fair on Friday 8th December the best one yet are well underway but, we really need your help!  We are trying to generate gifts and prizes for our raffle and stalls, therefore if anyone is happy to approach friends, family, employers or local businesses, letters of support are available from the School Office.

Friday 24th November will be a non-uniform day; we would like to request that any donations such as chocolate, bottles, toiletries etc are brought into school.  There will be an additional non-uniform day on Friday 1st December; we will be asking children to bring £1 donation.  We would gladly welcome any other donations at our School Office.

For more information on what has been happening at Brentnall this week, please visit our school website www.brentnallcommunityprimaryschool.co.uk or why not follow us on Twitter @BrentnallCPS.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Mr. M Thompson
